Violet Cemetery

This 1831-1955 burial ground is the final resting place for a broad range of early settlers in the eastern region of Mississippi County. The list of those buried in Violet Cemetery contain the names of early settlers, developers and residents of the area and include war heroes, flood victims, leaders and workers responsible for the growth and development of Osceola. Burials include William Joshua Driver (1873-1948), U. S. Congressman from 1921-1939.  It also ccontains a good collection of nineteenth and early twentieth century funerary art. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
