Pine Tree Cooperative Wildlife Management Area

This 11,850-acre area, owned by the University of Arkansas, was established as a branch agricultural experimental station. It also serves as a resource for recreational use through an agreement with the Game and Fish Commission. The area includes a variety of resident wildlife, along with wintering migratory species. The area is hardwood timber, intermixed with fields and pastures. It is open to fishing, birdwatching and hiking, along with limited hunting (including rabbits, quail, squirrels. furbearers, doves and ducks). The area is regulated by permit quota hunting for deer, and turkey hunting is closed. Various wildlife management practices are implemented to enhance habitat diversity to meet various habitat needs of wildlife.
