Guerrant Cemetery (aka Vincent Cemetery)

The Queen of a gypsy clan is buried here.  She died one winter in the early 1900s while members of her clan were encamped on the banks of Jenkins Lake behind the present Methodist Church site.  The gypsy group used to make Crawfordsville a regular stop each year, and for many years after the queen’s death, they held ceremonies at her grave site annually.  The cemetery, named for Dr. John W. Guerrant who practiced in the area during the 1860s, also includes several Civil War veterans.
