Poinsett County Attractions

Crowley’s Ridge divides Poinsett County, with the eastern portion made up of the rich alluvial soil of the Mississippi River Delta and the western side being primarily prairie land. Thus, visitors are apt to see cotton east of the ridge, rice west of the ridge, and native hardwoods (oaks, gum, pines, flowering dogwoods and tulip poplars) along the ridge.
