Civil War Roundtable: The Freedman's Bureau and its Impact on the Arkansas Delta
"The Freedman’s Bureau and Its Impacts on the Arkansas Delta," is the topic for this Civil War Roundtable sponsored by the Delta Cultural Center from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Miller Annex. The era following the Civil War was a changing time, especially for newly freed African Americans trying to make their way in this new world. Meet Dr. Kyle Day, professor at the University of Monticello, as he discusses the impacts the Freedman’s Bureau had on the African Americans in the Arkansas Delta and its successes and failures during Reconstruction.
