Rhoda's Famous Hot Tamales
Rhoda's has been named an Arkansas classic by Food and Wine magazine and was a 2017 inaugural inductee into the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame. And it's no wonder! Rhoda Adams serves up tamales made with beef and chicken, combined with, steamy cornmeal, and wrapped in husks that when unwrapped release a wonderful flavor and aroma. People come from all over the region to eat on the spot or to purchase several dozen to take home. (She puts them in a coffee can for you and fills it with juice). And her pies are an equal delight--small tart-size pies or great big ones with meringue piled high--and if you can't decide on the flavor, she does some that are half and half. It's worth a trip to Lake Village just for a stop at Rhoda's.
