Festivals and special events remain a major aspect of today's Delta culture. These events are reminders of the diverse groups that settled the Delta, from African-Americans to the various European ethnic groups. Celebrations range from the Independence Day Parades in small towns all over the Delta to the internationally recognized King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena. These festivals often provide a great opportunity to purchase local arts and crafts and sample the culinary delights of the Arkansas Delta.
