Located in extreme southeastern Arkansas, this town is named for Eudora James, who was the daughter of E.C. James. In 1858, after Eudora has passed her father named his plantation after her. A cotton-ginning and sawmill town developed near the plantation, and the settlers decided to name the town Eudora. Eudora was incorporated in 1905. Annual events include the Arkansas Catfish Festival, held each May.
