Located in northeastern Arkansas, this town was established by the railroad. Trumann is the third name this town has had; the town was established on April 27, 1896 and named Mosher. The name was changed to Weona in 1902, however, this caused confusion for the mail and rail service. As a result, the name was permanently changed to Trumann on March 23, 1904, in honor of a St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad executive. Trumann became an incorporated town in 1920.
